Founder — Yogasrishti
Hi, I’m Sonal.
My journey into yoga therapy did not begin from strength—it began from struggle.
As a child, I was frequently ill—weak, dependent on medication, and hospitalized almost every year. Later, life brought emotional challenges that left me feeling stuck, anxious, and disconnected.
Yoga was not a choice—it was survival.
But even that journey wasn’t smooth.
As I began practicing, my body started breaking down:
At one point, I was completely bedridden.
That’s when everything shifted.
I stopped chasing poses—and started listening.
I understood:
Over time, I became my own therapist.
Through yogic wisdom, breath, daily discipline, and deep observation, I healed myself—step by step.
And that’s when my work truly began.
What started as personal recovery evolved into a deeper calling.
Students began coming—some on stretchers, some in wheelchairs, others emotionally overwhelmed.
Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals dealing with:
And together, we’ve achieved:
“If you are in pain—physically or emotionally—make yourself aware that healing is possible.”
What I learned from my own body became my foundation—I was my first experiment.
In the early years, my understanding was shaped not just by experience, but by direct guidance from highly respected teachers.
I trained under Kobad Variava, a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher in Mumbai, with whom I practiced intensively for over five years. This phase built my base in precision, alignment, and therapeutic application of asanas.
Seeking deeper clinical understanding, I continued my learning in Pune with students of Dr. Karandikar—a senior disciple of B. K. S. Iyengar and an MBBS doctor.
This exposure brought a critical dimension to my work—bridging medical science with yogic therapy.
To deepen and validate my experiential knowledge, I pursued formal academic and professional training:
M.Sc. in Health Sciences
Pune University
M.Sc. in Yoga Therapy
SVYASA
Alongside, I underwent extensive practical and lineage-based training:
My work today is shaped by a unique convergence of:
This integration allows me to go beyond protocols and create precise, individualized therapeutic interventions that deliver real, lasting results.

Medical Yoga Therapist, Yogasristhi Mumbai
“My journey has always been rooted in one question: how can we understand the human body better, and use that understanding to help people heal?”
I began my career in healthcare with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Mumbai, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from Eastern Michigan University. My scientific background took me into the hospital and clinical research environment in the United States, where I spent over 12 years working alongside doctors, healthcare teams, and patients.
During those years, I was deeply involved in clinical research across multiple areas of medicine. I contributed to scientific publications and presented research at conferences around the world. This experience shaped the way I look at healthcare—with curiosity, scientific reasoning, and a strong respect for evidence.
Then, in 2024, something unexpected changed my path.
A personal injury introduced me to Medical Yoga Therapy. What began as part of my own journey towards recovery soon became a deeper professional calling. I was fascinated by the science behind the practice—the way anatomy, biomechanics, alignment, movement, strength, and breath could be brought together to address the individual rather than simply the symptom.
I decided to train as a Medical Yoga Therapist under the guidance of Sonal Chaudhary, whose approach brought together the therapeutic principles of yoga with a deep understanding of the human body.
That journey eventually led to the creation of Yogasrishti in Goregaon, Mumbai.
Today, I work with people experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal and movement-related concerns, including:
