The Yoga Srishti™ Recovery Method

At Yoga Srishti, we believe that healing is a progressive journey. A person experiencing severe pain cannot be expected to perform yoga postures immediately. Likewise, once pain subsides, the focus must gradually shift towards restoring strength, mobility, posture, and long-term function.

Our methodology follows a structured three-stage rehabilitation model developed through years of clinical experience, integrating Medical Yoga Therapy, Iyengar-inspired therapeutic yoga, functional anatomy, biomechanics, breathwork, and lifestyle practices.

Each stage prepares the body for the next, ensuring that recovery is safe, progressive, and sustainable.

Stage 1 – Level 0: RELEASE:

Medical Yoga Therapy

Pain Relief • Space Creation • Decompression

Level 0 is designed for individuals with acute pain, severe stiffness, restricted mobility, muscle spasm, or those who are unable to practise conventional yoga safely.

This stage is inspired by the principles of Medical Yoga Therapy developed by Acharya Dr. S. V. Karandikar, where ropes, belts, benches, chairs, and therapeutic supports are used to position the body strategically, creating space within compressed joints and reducing mechanical stress.

The emphasis is not on performing yoga postures but on allowing the body to heal through intelligent positioning, decompression, and neuromuscular relaxation.

Students learn to:

This phase is particularly effective for conditions involving the spine and knees, where reducing compression is the first step towards recovery.

Stage 2 – Level 1: Rebuild

Iyengar-Inspired Therapeutic Yoga

Once pain is under control, rehabilitation progresses to active therapeutic movement.

Drawing inspiration from the precision, sequencing, and prop-based methodology of the Iyengar tradition, students learn how to rebuild strength, improve stability, and restore efficient movement patterns.

Props such as ropes, chairs, belts, bolsters, blocks, and walls are used not only to support the body but also to improve alignment, facilitate muscle activation, and encourage safe movement.

Students learn to:

The emphasis is on restoring confidence in movement while protecting vulnerable structures.

Stage 3 – Level 2: Restore

Functional Rehabilitation

The final stage focuses on helping clients return to an active, independent lifestyle.

Once stability has been restored, students learn how to improve mobility, flexibility, balance, and movement efficiency while reducing the risk of recurrence.

Therapeutic sequencing continues to be guided by assessment, ensuring that every progression is appropriate for the individual’s stage of recovery.

Students learn to:

The goal is not simply to achieve greater flexibility, but to help individuals move with confidence, ease, and resilience in everyday life.

The Clinical Framework

Throughout the program, students are trained to think like therapists.
Every client follows a structured clinical pathway:

Assessment

Rather than teaching standardised sequences, students learn how to adapt each session to the individual’s needs using sound clinical judgement.

Beyond Certification

Learning does not end with the completion of the course.

Every participant receives continued professional guidance through consultation-based mentorship as they begin working with clients.

To further strengthen clinical confidence, the top two students from each batch are offered the opportunity to undertake a three-month supervised internship at 50% of the standard internship fee. During this period, interns observe live therapy sessions, participate in case discussions, and deepen their practical understanding under expert guidance.

Certification is awarded only after successful completion of the course requirements, including 20 independently documented case studies, ensuring that every graduate has meaningful hands-on experience before entering professional practice.
